For licensed boarding businesses

If you hold a council licence for kennels, home boarding, dog day care or a cattery, you're probably already listed on KennelCheck, free. Dog owners use us to check a boarder is licensed before they book.

1. Your free listing

Every business on a council register we cover gets a free listing showing your council star rating (in England), licence number and expiry date, with a link to the council register. Home-based boarders are shown by area only, with no names or addresses. Search for yourself on the home page.

2. Your free "Licensed on KennelCheck" badge

Show customers you're licensed by adding our badge to your website. It links to your listing so owners can see your council licence details for themselves.

3. Featured listing, from £19 a month

  • A spot in the Featured box at the top of your council and town pages
  • Photos, prices, a description and a link to your website and booking page
  • Cancel any time

Our promise: featured placements are always clearly labelled "Featured". Paying never changes your council star rating, never hides another business, and never changes the order of the main list. Ratings come only from the council.

Want to be one of the first featured businesses in your area? Email hello@kennelcheck.co.uk with your council and licence number.

Is something wrong on your listing?

We copy the council's register. If it's out of date, your council will usually update it. You can also ask us to correct or remove a listing.

Common questions

Is a KennelCheck listing free?

Yes. Every business on a council licence register we cover is listed free, and always will be.

Does paying change my star rating?

No. Star ratings are copied exactly from the council register. Featured businesses appear in a separate, clearly labelled box and the main list is not reordered.

How do I get listed?

We list businesses from councils' own public licence registers. If you hold a licence but are missing, email us your council and licence number.
